Hidden Track: "Wade's World" Open Door For Classic Tour [Phish Leg II Preview]

This ability to go somewhere we didn’t think was possible is what was missing last summer. Yes, we’re still waiting on more Type 2. Yes, we’re still looking for different second set openers – as much as I love Drowned, Rock and Roll, Light, Mike’s, Disease let’s switch it up to start the second set already. Yet the dusting off of Fuck Your Face means now we can actually call Prep School Hippie and not be totally joking about it.

Hidden Track: "The B List" 10 Best Phish Tour Openers

7. December 2, 1999 @ The Palace, Auburn Hills MI

Set 1: Runaway Jim, Farmhouse[1], Heavy Things, Roggae, Run Like an Antelope, Wading in the Velvet Sea, Poor Heart, Sample in a Jar, Free, The Squirming Coil

Set 2: Boogie On Reggae Woman, Gotta Jibboo, Bathtub Gin[2] -> Also Sprach Zarathustra, You Enjoy Myself[3] -> The Little Drummer Boy[4]

Encore: Bold As Love

[1] Slightly different arrangement, with an additional chorus at the end.
[2] 2001 teases before segueing into 2001 proper.
[3] Silent jam.
[4] Emerged from the YEM vocal jam and ended with Fishman alone onstage.

Notes: Farmhouse featured a slightly different arrangement, with an additional chorus at the end. Gin included 2001 teases before segueing into 2001 proper. YEM included a silent jam. Little Drummer Boy emerged from the YEM vocal jam and ended with Fishman alone onstage.

An unremarkable first set gave the boys time to shake off the cobwebs before diving into some funky exploration in set two. The lengthy Bathtub Gin leads into a unique 2001 with Trey on keys and ends with a solid YEM showing the band was ready for action in what would turn out to be a terrific tour for them.

Phish Greek Theatre Preview

The Greek

After closing the first leg with a stunning jaw-dropper on the Fourth of July, Phish will kick off their second leg of their 2010 Summer Tour tonight returning to the University of California - Berkeley campus for the first time in seventeen years. The Greek Theater originally built in 1903 as a gift from the real life "Citizen Kane" William Randolph Hearst promises be an inspirational start to the tour, just as Red Rocks was last year. Hopefully the mystical surroundings will allow the band to let loose and allow their improv to bubble. Be sure to follow us on twitter @ohkeepahblog for the latest news and updates. As always @YEMblog has you covered live on the scene. -Justin Wendt

Trey's solo from 2 - 4 minute mark is absolutely disgusting, in a good way.
