Umphrey's McGee New Year's Eve run and ticket pre-sale!
via umphreys.com:
We are thrilled to announce the Umphrey’s McGee New Year’s Eve run December 29, 30, and 31st. For the past ten years, we have had the pleasure of ringing in the new year in Chicago, and this year we are returning to one of our favorite places to throw the big party – The Riviera Theatre. We will play two full two-set shows on the 29th and 30th, and three sets on the 31st. Three nights, seven sets, one band. If you haven’t been to Chicago for an Umphrey’s McGee New Year’s run, this is your year. We have our eyes on a new city next year!
"We've played nearly every room in Chicago over the course of our career, to continue keeping things interesting, we've chosen one of our favorite venues in the city this year, the Riviera Theater, with a perfect combination of lots of open floor for dancing and seats in the balcony with great sight lines. We can't wait to feel the energy in this legendary Chicago haunt explode!" - Joel Cummins
The fine folks from CID Entertainment have put together wonderful travel packages including accommodations at The James Hotel, exclusive merchandise and parties, and more. Visit for more details.
Travel package and pre-sale of three-show ticket packages begins at 12:00 pm CT this Wednesday, September 8th through Umphrey's Ticketing. Public on-sale is Saturday, September 11th, at 10:00 am CT. Tickets can be purchased at the Vic Theatre Box Office for no service charges.

Mike Gordon 'Moss' - In Stores Oct 19th
via mike-gordon.com:
We're excited to announce Moss, Mike's third solo album, which hits stores October 19th, and is available for pre-order now.
Moss comes only two short years after The Green Sparrow, and about half of its songs stem from the same 50-song burst of creativity that seeded that album. Songs like "Spiral" and "The Void" detour into evocatively abstract, meterless areas of sound with a mysterious, textural richness. You might suppose these soundscapes are musical evocations of particularly fanciful sights and sounds experienced while on hallucinogenic vision quests.
On the other hand, such numbers as "Can't Stand Still" and "Fire From a Stick" - both joyfully devoted to muses, mentors and the ecstatic wellspring of inspiration - are infectious, danceable, upbeat and viscerally planted in the here and now.
Drummers Joe Russo and Doug Belote crop up throughout the album, and other guests include Marco Benevento, Page McConnell and Jon Fishman.
Anyone who pre-orders Moss on CD or Vinyl via Mike's Online Store or Phish Dry Goods will receive one of four Limited Edition sketch replications of the original Moss album cover concepts from Mike's Journal - all individually signed by Mike himself. In addition, everyone is automatically entered to win a chance at the Moss Grand Prize: a bona fide 30 minute, private bass lesson with Mike. Don't even play bass? Even better! We'll finalize time and location with the lucky winner.
