Bob Weir Let's it Grow with the Marin Symphony Orchesta

Former Bobby and the Midnites front-man, Bob Weir, has released a video teaser preview of what we can expect when Bob collaborates with the Marin Symhony Orchestra next week. Bob has spent the better part of the past year working with Giancarlo Aquilanti, orchestrating selections from the Grateful Dead catalog for the performance. Head on over to Weir’s Tamalpais Research Institute website to take a look at what is essentially Ratdog (minus Kenny Brooks and Mark Karan) rehearsing "Let It Grow" with the Marin Symphony Orchestra. The First Fusion event takes place May 7th at the Marin Center in San Rafael, CA.

How about some Tuesday morning jazz?

While Phish has never officially played this Sun Ra classic in concert, they debuted it at an in-studio performance (with an audience) on Atlanta's WNNX 99.7 FM's Live X program. According to Craig Delucia's phish.net song history, the version on Sun Ra's Destination Unknown release includes two musicians who would later appear on Trey's Surrender to the Air, Marshall Allen and Michael Ray.
